Of course, you could argue that how TK could be a viable carry as a caster/mage-type character is interesting hence a good design in its own right, but you cannot deny the amount of farm a TK'd need is either absurd within our ecosystem - or quite simply promots a kind of gameplay that's selfish and usually not fun outside TK's own perspective, especially when it comes to snowballing. On the other hand, re-designating March of the Machine as the Shard ability would be necessary if TK is allowed to have a built-in BoT, which is done to change how this hero from being too passive and farms everywhere - to actually capable of fighting early on and have meaningful impact without his power-budget being spent to farming tools (which makes sense on a carry like Alch but not really when it comes to a caster/mage type character within the role archetype in Dota - that is abilities are more potent than regular attacks in the first half of the match where support/caster/mage create space for those that falls into the carry category slash excels at the second half). You can show off your MMR/bracket by editing your custom flair text.įunctionality-wise it's an ability that brings far better dynamics than March of the Machines, which can easily toxicate the game for anyone that needs resource (which is everyone actually). However, whether Transmit will do server-side copy, or download file from one bucket to the local machine and then upload to the other bucket will depend on whether the server (S3 gateway in this case) supports required API (CopyObject in this case). You can, of course, open one bucket in one pane, and the other bucket in the other, and copy by dragging or copy paste. If not - CyberDuck shall do.įirstly, using transmit or forklift can I move files and folders between buckets? My personal choice is Panic’s Transmit, if you need to use it frequently. This allows to use native mounting tools on macOS and thus avoid kernel extensions: rclone, for example, relies on FUSE kext to implement filesystem, but going forward kernel extensions are discouraged on most OSes that take security and stability seriously. The downsize would be lack of streaming support - the file needs to be downloaded in its entirety before it can be open by applications, this kills some scenarios like media file streaming.Īn example of the latter will be MountainDuck - it launches local NFS server and serves data via virtual NFS shares. It is, however, pretty rough in terms of UI polish and stability. If you want to mount the storj bucket (like rclone mount) you want the tool that either supports new FileProvider API on macOS or a tool that serves data via locally run file server.Īn example of the former would be StrongSync by ExpanDrive. without mounting) you can use Cyberduck (Free) or Panic Transmit (paid, but worth every penny). Since the Enigma’s not Bluetooth enabled, that’s it when it comes to controlling the toy. Sandwiched between the intensity buttons-the first reducing and the last increasing-the mode select, in addition to powering down or turning off the toy, cycles through its eight pre-programmed vibration patterns. If you’re familiar with any of Lelo’s other products, their layout shouldn’t come as a surprise. Set on the Enigma’s ergonomic handle is the toy’s three-button control scheme. On the Enigma G-spot arm, Lelo’s brainiacs worked to make it as flexible as possible to allow their customers to position their toy where it will go the most and arousing, good. This way, the Enigma doesn’t have that distinctly mechanical feel which often plagues other vibrators-a new system that also gives users a sense that they aren’t using a device but rather something like an extension of themselves or another person. Instead of using the toy’s motors to do that (yawn) old standby of creating vibrations, Lelo’s engineers took a different approach by deciding to arouse their customers by using its motors to deliver pulsing sonic vibrations to the G-spot and the clit-stimulation parts of the toy. The World Of Tomorrow is also reflected in how the Enigma works. This latter part is also ergonomically shaped to be comfortable to hold and whose iridescent deep rose color nicely offsets the rest of the toy’s matt-black color. The toy doesn’t stop there, as its design also keeps going to form a curved handle that houses the Enigma’s motors and electronics. The Enigma resembles-and this is admittingly stretching my descriptive powers-something like a hook, with one end of it the insertable, G-spot stimulation part, and the other half-circles around to the small-ish knob that’s its clitoral-pleasuring component. Not that this is a bad thing, as once you do understand how the Enigma operates, it’s like opening your eyes to the reality that every other dual-type vibrator should employ the same design. In fact, it took me a bit of time, plus consulting that same product page, to get even an inkling of how it’s supposed to be used. It also doesn’t look at all like you’d expect a G-spot and clitoral vibrator to resemble. Looking at the Enigma as a kind of 2525 plaything that mysteriously dropped through a wibbly-wobbly time-hole to land in our 2012 laps is helped by Lelo’s marketing, as their product page is alluringly splashed with silver lame models cavorting against an apparently alien landscape.Įven without them, the Enigma gives off a decidedly futuristic vibe. So strap on your jet pack, pop a food pill, and set your kinky imaginations to steamy and hang on as I get further into the sci-fi erotic wonderment that’s Lelo’s Enigma vibrator.Ĭheck the Price of the Lelo Enigma The look of tomorrow … today Not only that, but its Lelo pedigree guarantees that below its futuristic looks lies ultra-sophisticated and expertly-crafted mechanics that’ll blast your sexual arousal to the moon and back. Okay, that may just be my particular fetish, but, seriously, take a gander at the new Enigma dual-action sonic vibrator from the great minds over at Lelo and tell me if it doesn’t conjure kinky images straight out of some 1970s era stylistically groovy science fiction romp? Of all the cool stuff that’s been happening in the wild and wonderful world of sextoys, including the integration of smart technology granting us all kinds of erotic interactive entertainment systems as well as new long-distance sexual relationship options, is how outright futuristic many of these new products look. In 1990, the Universal Lab Interface (ULI), the MultiPurpose Lab Interface (MPLI), and software to run on Macintosh and Windows computers were introduced, quickly followed by the introduction of the Serial Box Interface. In the late 1980s, the company started producing assembled temperature sensors and many other types of sensors, such as photogates and motion detectors for studying moving objects. Gradually, the company expanded the product line to include software for other computers using the DOS operating system and for Macintosh computers. That year, the company started producing data-acquisition software and providing instructions for individuals to build their own sensors. In 1982, David developed the program Graphical Analysis, which allowed an individual to manually enter data into a table and display the data as a graph. The first software programs developed by David Vernier were scientific simulations for Apple II computers. If you’re thinking of getting a tattoo, there are many things to consider – the design, the placement, and the durability. It has to be a burning, all encompassing, urgent need. I read an interesting article the other day which described how the crux of any story is the hero’s need, not want. The second step is perhaps the most important – the hero needs something. This part of the story is at the apex of the ‘order’ part of the wheel, which means the world they inhabit is the status quo, and later the story will delve into chaos, or what Joseph Campbell described as ‘crossing the threshold.’ Again, this demonstrates where Harmon’s story circle is superior – because the Hero’s Journey is fine when you’re Luke Skywalker going into space, or Harry Potter visiting Hogwarts – but for romance novelists, or crime writers, the ‘chaos’ can be the same old world as before, just thrown into doubt and uncertainty. In addition to establishing the protagonist of your story, you also establish the world this hero or heroine lives in. Step one is to establish the protagonist of the story – the hero, or heroine. In Dan Harmon’s story circle, their motivation comes from within. What does that mean, exactly? Well, in Joseph Campbell’s template, things happen to the hero. The most fundamental aspect of it, I believe, is the fact that its rooted in character, whereas the Hero’s Journey follows a character, but his (and we say ‘his’ since it’s a pretty patriarchal story structure) motivations are as often external as they are internal. So, why is the story circle so important? And why is it superior to Joseph Campbell’s so-called ‘monomyth’? Well, to my mind it’s because Dan’s story circle encompasses every story – from romance to short stories to episodes of Rick and Morty. StudioBinder also made a template of the story circle available here. This terrific video by StudioBinder arguably explains the Story Circle better than I could, and it’s definitely worth taking a few moments to watch it: In fact, I came home and laid out my next romance novel using that exact template. This is where Dan Harmon took some of the elements of Campbell’s 12-step template and distilled it down into 8 steps, split between ‘order’ and ‘chaos.’ I sat down with our writing group and they took us through various stories using Dan Harmon’s story circle as a guide – and, by jove, it worked. It works great if you’re writing sword and sorcery adventures, science fiction sagas, or other long-form adventures… but it falls flat with the beats of a romance novel, women’s literature, or police procedurals. Paltz Spindler for the University of Kansas Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction.Īs a romance writer, however, I know first-hand that Joseph Campbell’s story template isn’t as well-rounded for every genre. The Hero’s Journey, as outlined by Lisa A. Dan Harmon, creator of Rick and Mortyĭuring the 1990s, Dan Harmon found himself stuck while writing a screenplay, and developed something he called ‘the story circle’, which is loosely based on Joseph Campbell’s “ The Hero’s Journey.” Fans of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings or just about any epic tale will be familiar with what’s known as the ‘monomyth’ – because it’s so ubiquitous, the concept of the hero’s journey pretty much encompasses all mythology. Disgusting gags and foul language aside, fans of the show can see that Dan delves deep into the hardest of hardcore science fiction for many of his story ideas, and his plots are so deeply rooted in uncomfortable human elements that if the show wasn’t a gross-out comedy, it would make for unsettling viewing. Last week, though, we had a session that really blew me away – in which we did a deep dive into Dan Harmon’s Story Circle.ĭan Harmon, for the uninitiated, is an American writer, producer, and actor perhaps best known for the hysterical and mind-blowing Rick and Morty animated TV show.
